Traders are constantly bombarded with news from television, newspapers, radio and the internet regarding markets that are either skyrocketing or plummeting.
Take for example grain markets. We have been inundated over the last several months with news regarding soaring grain prices, world food shortages and food riots. But what does this mean? How can we as traders attempt to take advantage of this? When do we go long? Are we too late and will we end up buying at the top? What would our exit strategy be on the trade if the market goes against us? Where and how do we know when to take profits?
These are all crucial questions that any seasoned or new trader faces when trying to execute a trading plan. In this article, we will explore these questions further so that we can try to reduce our exposure and maximize our profit potential in these headline-making markets.
