Gold to Hit Major Market Top

...but I don't know exactly when. And neither does anybody else! I just thought I'd have some fun with you on that headline, because those of you who know me well and have followed me for a while know that I'm not one to make bold and unrealistic predictions like some in our industry like to do to "make a splash" and get some media or marketing attention. In fact, when markets like gold or wheat or soybeans do go parabolic, like they have in recent months, the veteran trading professionals "know that they don't know" exactly when a market will top out. What they do know is that when the market does finally hit a peak and then starts to back off, at that time there will be solid technical clues produced to then suggest that a major market top is finally in place and that prices will continue to trend lower. Remember, too, that no trader should ever expect to pick specific tops and bottoms with consistent accuracy. Better is to try to catch and ride bigger trending price moves that do occur in markets--especially in recent years in the commodities. That's my job: To point out to you, my valued reader, the early clues that do suggest significant trending price moves on the horizon.

Jim has an excellent daily newsletter where he reviews different markets, alerts you for potential trades and much more. Included is his great bi-weekly newsletter with charts and a little longer term outlook. We recommend checking out his website, educational CDROM, and services at Jim Wyckoff
